We take health very seriously, providing extra care to give everyone peace of mind about the quality of pet care we provide.

For kennel cleaning and surfaces we use Rescue, a Vet-Grade disinfecting solution that removes odors and has the power to kill resilient pathogens like parvo, yet remain gentle on animals, users and equipment. It eliminates certain strains of bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold and mildew in a matter of minutes and is fragrance free.

We have radiant heated floors so we can control the floor temperature depending on the season to help keep pups more comfortable. We also have ductless air purifiers with heating and cooling capabilities. Along with our air purifiers, we have installed Halo-LED lighting which aide in killing several germs, helping to reduce airborne particles like dust, pollen, dander and microbes. These kill up to 99% of bacteria, viruses and microbial growth thought our building as well as on surfaces.  

Here at Camano Island Kennels, we repurposed some of our trees on property for our custom outdoor fencing which is over 7 ft tall. We have three play yards and adjust play groups based on dog size, age and energy. Meaning we will never have a 16 year old chihuahua playing with a 8 month old husky. We also have five fully enclosed spacious no-jumps for extra security and to help give space to those who might not want/need to play around with others. We use a mix of small pebbles, to quarter or golfball sized rocks in our yards to help prevent mud and best suited for sanitation and easy cleaning.

We do rotations throughout the day for outside play time and adjust to your dogs needs. Our focus for playtime is outdoors to give lots of fresh air and room to run! Our playgroup sizes can vary from 2-12 dogs. 

Locally owned and operated, Camano Island Kennels is proud to have a stellar team of professional pet care takers that help keep pups safe and get lots of attention.  

We like to call our kennel technicians Dog Wranglers, they spend time with pups making sure everyone plays safe and keeping all areas clean. We have everyone follow guidelines to ensure dog body language is understood, aiding with proper social behaviors and matching energy levels for play groups. We proudly offer Healthcare and Dental for our full-time Dog Wranglers.

Our passion for dogs shows on a daily basis and we recognize that caring for your furry family member is a huge responsibility. We strive to provide an experience for your dog that promotes more than just their well being, we become a home away from home for your pups. 

Located on property, are the lovely hens who provide eggs for our Country Breakfast treats that be be added for you pup while visiting Camano Island Kennels. 

They are fully free range when the weather is nice so don't be surprised to see these ladies roaming around. When the weather is foul, they hide away in their Cluckinghen Palace with a large covered outdoor space to keep them dry.

If you are wanting some of their fresh eggs for yourself and family, pulling up our driveway you will notice an egg stand under a large maple tree, there you can score a carton of the ladies rainbow eggs! Payments at the stand are $5/dozen and there is a cash box or you can Venmo at @cluckinghen where all profits go straight back to the ladies for treats.
